How to incorporate a buffer time in between bookings?
Last updated on April 17, 2026
Spare Space allows hosts full flexibility to manage their availability, including setting buffer time between bookings. This ensures you have enough time to clean, reset, or prepare your space before the next guest arrives.
Host Responsibility
If you wish to maintain a buffer period between bookings (for example, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or more), you are responsible for managing this manually through your calendar. Spare Space does not automatically block buffer time, so you’ll need to adjust your availability to prevent overlapping or back-to-back bookings.
How to Manage Buffer Time
- Go to your Calendar in the Host Dashboard.
- Locate the time slots before or after your existing booking.
- Manually block the hours you want to reserve as buffer time.
- This ensures no guest can book immediately before or after another booking.
Important Notes
- Buffer time is completely host-controlled - Spare Space does not enforce automatic gaps between bookings.
- If a guest requests extra preparation or setup time, it’s up to the host to adjust availability or decline overlapping bookings.
- Hosts are responsible for ensuring they can accommodate the buffer they need before accepting new bookings.
