Should I verify my account as an individual or business?

In India, your verification type on Spare Space depends on whether you are registered under GST.

Individual Host:

If your annual turnover is below INR 20 lakhs (or INR 10 lakhs in special category states), you are not required to register for GST. In this case, you should verify your account as an Individual Host. Spare Space will collect and remit the applicable GST directly to the tax authorities on your behalf.

Business Host (GST Registered):

If your annual turnover exceeds INR 20 lakhs (or INR 10 lakhs in special category states), you are required to register for GST and verify your account as a Business Host. In this case, Spare Space will collect GST from the guest and remit it to you along with your payout, while deducting and depositing TCS (Tax Collected at Source) with the authorities against your GSTIN.

You will be asked to provide your PAN and GST details while linking your payout account or adding a new listing to ensure proper tax handling.
