What are the requirements for live listings?

To make bookings simple and transparent for both hosts and guests, Spare Space has a few essential requirements that must be completed before your listing can go live on the platform.
Host Requirements
Your host profile must include: Full name Verified email address and phone number Friendly profile photo (your last name will never be public) Verified ID — Aadhaar, Passport, or Driving License Linked payout method with bank account details to receive payments 💡 All communication, bookings, and payments must take place on the Spare Space platform.
Host Verification & Payments
To avoid delays in activating your listing, make sure to: Complete your identity verification Link your bank account for payouts Guests are charged in full when they confirm a booking, and hosts receive payouts within a few business days after the booking ends.
Host Policies
All hosts are required to follow the Spare Space Terms of Use. If you are listing a leased property, ensure you have written permission from the owner or landlord to host short-term activities. Hosts must: Respond promptly to booking requests and guest messages Keep all communications and payments on the platform Failure to comply may result in suspension or removal of listings.
Space Listing Categories
Hosts can list their spaces under one or more of the following categories:
- Residential Spaces - Homes, apartments, villas, or bungalows suitable for shoots, small gatherings, or creative projects.
- Event Spaces - Banquet halls, terraces, studios, warehouses, or other venues for private or social events.
- Work & Meeting Spaces - Conference rooms, co-working studios, offices, or setups suitable for professional meetings or offsites.
- Creative Spaces - Studios, art galleries, rehearsal spaces, or any setup designed for creators, artists, and workshops.
- Fitness & Wellness Spaces Yoga studios, gyms, dance spaces, or wellness centers suitable for fitness or mental wellness activities.
- Dining Spaces Cafés, restaurants, pop-up kitchens, or private dining setups suitable for culinary events or shoots.
- Outdoor Spaces Gardens, farms, rooftops, or courtyards suitable for events, shoots, or other open-air activities.
Listing Requirements
Each listing must:
- Include 10+ high-quality photos showing the entire space and setup
- Provide a clear and honest description of the space and amenities
- Clearly mention restrictions (e.g., sound limits, alcohol policy, pets, etc.)
- Display transparent hourly pricing (no hidden charges or off-platform payments)
- 📸 Photos must be recent, match the actual space, and not include watermarks or logos.
Descriptions
Your listing should: Highlight what’s included in the booking price Mention key house rules or restrictions Accurately describe the layout, lighting, capacity, and setup options.
Once all requirements are complete, your listing will go through a short review and will go live once approved.
