Why should i keep transaction and communication only through Spare Space?

At Spare Space, we view our relationship with hosts as a partnership - we invest in marketing, visibility, and operational support to help you get regular, reliable bookings.
All communication and transactions must take place through the Spare Space platform.
Taking conversations or payments off the platform is a direct violation of the Spare Space Terms of Use and Community Guidelines.
When a host or guest transacts outside the platform, they lose access to all protections provided by Spare Space, including:
- Verified and secure payment processing
- Cancellation and refund policy coverage
- Support in case of disputes or booking issues
- Fraud prevention and record-keeping for safety
Hosts found accepting payments or coordinating off-platform will be removed from the Spare Space community and may still be charged any applicable service fees.
These policies exist to protect both hosts and guests from fraud, disputes, and financial risk - while maintaining trust and transparency across the Spare Space community.
