Why was my Spare Space listing deactivated?
Last updated on April 20, 2026
At Spare Space, our goal is to provide guests with a reliable, transparent, and seamless booking experience while helping hosts succeed on the platform. Listings may be deactivated if they don’t meet our hosting standards or community guidelines.
Common reasons for deactivation
🕒 Slow response time or inactivity If hosts consistently fail to respond to guest inquiries or take too long to reply, it can result in a poor guest experience. Prolonged inactivity may lead to temporary or permanent deactivation.
📅 Inaccurate calendar or unclear pricing Guests rely on accurate information to make bookings. Listings may be deactivated if hosts frequently: Decline bookings due to inaccurate availability Mention that the space is unavailable on listed dates Provide different prices than what’s displayed
❌ Excessive declines, expirations, or cancellations A high rate of declined requests, expired inquiries, or cancelled bookings negatively affects guest trust and may lead to deactivation.
⛔ Host compliance or policy violations Directing guests to book outside Spare Space, listing prohibited services (e.g., overnight stays), or failing to provide required permissions or verification details can result in deactivation.
Can my listing be reactivated?
We believe in giving hosts the opportunity to re-engage with the platform the right way.
