Welcome to Spare Space! We’re thrilled to have you here and can’t wait to see what you create with your first booking. To help you make the most of your experience, here’s a quick guide on how to get started, avoid common mistakes, and keep important reminders in mind.

Getting Started

1. Create your Spare Space profile
Sign up using your email or Google account, and complete your profile by uploading a profile photo and verifying your identity with a valid passport, driver’s license, or Aadhaar card. This helps ensure a trusted and secure community for both guests and hosts.

2. Search for the perfect space
Explore a wide range of unique spaces — from studios and homes to rooftops, cafés, and meeting rooms. Use filters to refine your search by activity, size, location, or budget. You can also save your favorite listings to compare and revisit later.

3. Have a few questions?
If you’d like to know more about a particular space before booking, simply click the “Message Spare Space” button on the listing page. Our team will help you with details, availability, or any specific requirements you might have.

4. Reserve your space
Once you’ve found the right space, click “Request to Book.” Your request will be sent to the host for approval. If the listing supports Instant Booking, you’ll see the “Instant Book” button — allowing you to confirm your booking immediately without waiting for host approval. After confirmation, you’ll receive booking details and access information directly on your dashboard.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Duplicate bookings
Avoid sending multiple active booking requests at once. Each request signals to the host that you’re ready to confirm, and more than one accepted booking could lead to double charges or cancellations.

Offline communication or payments
Keep all messages and transactions within the Spare Space platform. This ensures your booking is covered under our cancellation, payment security, and dispute resolution policies.

Last-minute bookings
While we understand urgent plans, it’s always best to book ahead. Hosts need time to prepare their spaces to meet your expectations — ensuring a smoother experience for everyone involved.
