What do I do if there is an issue resulting from a booking?
Last updated on April 20, 2026
Spare Space is a peer-to-peer platform that connects Hosts and Guests. We do not own or manage any spaces, and we’re not responsible for issues, damages, or disputes that occur during or after a booking.
For Emergencies
If there’s an emergency during your booking, please contact local authorities immediately by calling 112 (India’s national emergency helpline). Once safe, you may inform our team at support@booksparespace.com for record purposes.
For Non-Emergency Issues
If something goes wrong during your booking (such as damage, overstay, or a misunderstanding), you should first communicate directly with the other party to resolve the issue. Spare Space does not mediate or enforce penalties between users. If you would like to report the issue for record, email support@booksparespace.com within 72 hours after your booking ends, including:
1. Your booking ID
2. A short description of the incident
3. Any supporting evidence (photos, videos, receipts, or messages)
Please note: Reporting an issue does not guarantee compensation — Spare Space only reviews for policy compliance. Damages or Missing Items Hosts and Guests are responsible for protecting their own property and belongings. If an item is damaged or missing, contact the other party directly or, in case of theft, report the matter to local police. Unsupported Charges Spare Space cannot process or support fines without verified third-party evidence (for example: “cleaning fees” without receipts, “inconvenience” charges, or “lost business” claims). Such matters must be settled privately between Host and Guest.
